Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering Vikshaa: International Research Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences for your scholarly work. To ensure a smooth submission and review process, please follow the guidelines outlined below:

  1. Scope and Topics
    The journal welcomes submissions that engage with a wide range of topics within the fields of humanities and social sciences, including but not limited to:

    • Literature, History, and Philosophy
    • Sociology, Anthropology, and Political Science
    • Cultural Studies, Media, and Communication
    • Education, Psychology, and Social Theory
    • Interdisciplinary studies linking multiple areas within the humanities and social sciences.
      We encourage original research articles, theoretical explorations, case studies, reviews, and essays that contribute to critical discourse in these disciplines.
  2. Originality of Work
    Submissions must be original and unpublished. By submitting to the journal, authors confirm that the work has not been submitted elsewhere for publication and is not under consideration by any other journal or publisher.
  3. Manuscript Submission
    • Format: Submit your manuscript as a Word document (.doc or .docx) or PDF.
    • Length: Articles should be between 4,000 to 7,000 words, including references, footnotes, and appendices (if any).
    • Cover Letter: Include a brief cover letter with your submission, outlining the title of your manuscript, its key themes, and why it is a suitable fit for the journal.
    • Abstract: Include a 250-300 word abstract that summarizes the main argument and objectives of your paper. The abstract should be concise and avoid citations.
  4. Citation Style
    Submissions must adhere to the MLA 9th Edition citation style for both in-text citations and the Works Cited page. Please refer to the Submission Preparation Checklist for detailed instructions on formatting your manuscript.
  5. Peer Review Process
    All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review. The identity of the authors and reviewers is kept anonymous throughout the review process. Authors may be asked to make revisions based on reviewers’ feedback. Authors will be notified of the final decision within a reasonable time frame.
  6. Ethical Considerations
    • Plagiarism: We do not accept plagiarized content. Authors must properly attribute all sources of information, including texts, data, and images, and provide full citations.
    • Human Subjects: Research involving human subjects must comply with ethical standards, and authors must provide evidence of approval from an institutional review board (IRB) if applicable.
  7. Rights and Permissions
    Authors must ensure that they have obtained all necessary permissions for third-party content (e.g., images, tables, charts). Authors retain the copyright of their work, but by submitting to the journal, they grant the journal the right to publish the article in print and online formats.
  8. Revision and Resubmission
    Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on peer review feedback. Authors should return revised manuscripts within 4-6 weeks of receiving feedback. Failure to do so may result in the paper being withdrawn from consideration.
  9. Publication Fees
    There are no submission or publication fees for authors submitting to Vikshaa :International Research Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences. However, any costs associated with figure reproduction, permissions, or other materials are the responsibility of the author.
