For the purposes of this policy, plagiarism is defined as the use of previously authored works—whether text, data, or images—of others or the author’s own prior work (self-plagiarism) without proper acknowledgment or attribution.
The journal editors will address cases of plagiarism at their discretion. Actions taken will depend on the severity of the offense and may include, but are not limited to:
- Issuing corrections or retractions for the published article.
- Banning the author(s) from submitting to the journal in the future.
- Notifying the author’s institution, employer, or funding agencies about the misconduct.
